A Smile Will Get You Everything
I'm in the train station and a lady comes talking to the cluster of chairs. She has a big beaming smile, with big white teeth, and a joyous voice. She then directed her attention to me. She's from Mauritious originally it turns out, the French island off the East coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean. She asked for help with her two big roller luggages--to get to the platform and on the train. Now sadly I am sick with a fever from sleep deprivation and a lot of travel in a short period of time. My body is achy, I have cold chills, and a headache--for two days now. I can barely walk out of teh house and down the street. I didn't make sure she found someone else. And behind me were a young American couple. The guy helped her out.
After thye went to the platform, the girl turned to me and said, "what a breath of fresh air." I said, "a smile will get you everything." This lady was great. She knew what she wanted, took command, and did it with a smile from ear to ear. She wasn't afraid to put herself out there and ask for what she needed. She did it in a super friendly manner (she invited the person who helped her to stay at her house).
Be friendly. Be joyous. Be generous. And do it with a smile. Good things will come.
