About
Hello, I'm Drew Leger and welcome to my digital space!
This website is an educational and entertaining dumping ground of some of the things that I am researching, pondering, and experimenting with. It helps me keep it together and search it like a catalog while I learn and explore. It's also really fun to share it all with others, who can add to the process, fill in some gaps, and share their experiences. It's a fun ongoing project where I continue to challenge my beliefs and values. It's the ever evolving beauty of life.
I am very curious and love learning new things. My broad range of interests are: optimal, holistic health (Mind-Body-Soul balance): mental, physical, emotional, spiritual; nutrition/diet; travel (one backpack); minimalism; philosophy; fitness; outdoors/nature; psychology/sociology (the human condition); and creative expression (whatever medium). If you find any of it helpful, great! Thanks for coming with me on this journey and thanks for stopping by!
A few things that have shaped my life profoundly:
- Ketogenic diet/lifestyle with Fasting (intermittent and prolonged) (since 2020): You are what you eat. Operating on fat, instead of carbs, and being gluten-free, sugar-free, and largely dairy-free, as well as organic and natural, has had a fundamental impact on my life. It wasn't even a conscious, deliberate decision to go keto to heal anything, but it did, and it opened my eyes. I knew some stuff wasn't right, but walked around, in pain, ignoring it. Keto woke me up and healed so much: 1) No more leaky gut (a 15+-year Gastrointestinal tract issue); 2) No more chronic inflammation; 3) No more mood swings, no more 'h-anger' (hunger-anger), and no more blood sugar spikes and crashes; 4) Higher energy levels with increased mental clarity and creativity; 5) Normal, stabilized weight to a BMI 21.7 (midpoint of 'normal'). You can read My Keto Journey here.
- Western European trek (three months): volunteering on two organic farms and wild camping in SW England, spontaneous walk of the Camino de Santiago in Northern Spain, and additional treks in Portugal and Italy: simplicity, minimalism, a true test of self, resourcefulness, and testing comfort level/dealing with uncertainty, and what really matters--connecting with your environment: people and nature, and productivity vs. consumption. Huge advocate for living out of a backpack for a period of time. You really don't need much to survive and live. Less is more.
- Los Angeles, CA (four years): acting, creativity, spirituality
- England (nine years): BSc (Hons) Management degree from the University of Manchester; professional work experience as a project manager for a start-up in a corporate environment in London.
- Paris, France (two years): learning a new language and culture and living outside of my comfort zone (despite being French descent; I was 20 my first time in France). Huge advocate of living abroad, and ideally for a year.
