Face Your Fears

Every human being has a fear. Every. Single. Person. You are not alone. We all have a fear. That fear is actually a beautiful thing. It's a neon sign saying this is where you are supposed to go. This is where you are to grow. It's that simple. Scary and sometimes annoying and frustrating (but really it shouldn't be, at all). It's a godsend. A gift. Listen to it. Take a breath, and then, take action towards conquering it.

We have to stop doubting our ability. We all can achieve amazing things, if we just believe and take action towards the goal. It's not always easy, but it's also not always as difficult as we have in our head. The only thing we can do is try. And keep trying. And keep trying. Some times the road is messy– in fact, most times. We will fail more than we succeed. That's just fact. It's in the failure where the growth is at. The real goal is to fail forward. Keep at, learn, evaluate, readjust, try again. Continuous feedback loop. Fall in love with the process of failing forward. Have fun with it. And don't be afraid to share your story with others. People are more inspired and gravitate to real people– to the failures and struggle to achieve, rather than the squeaky clean look of success. This is true beauty.

Man, is it sexy to see someone fearless, and enjoying it! It's because it's their truth, their authentic self. They listened to that little voice and noticed their gut twisting up in knots and butterflies fluttering about. They took action towards it. And they failed. But the action felt great. They tried again. Repeatedly. And ultimately gained confidence and self-esteem, getting better and better. They grew. They faced their fears. They became their authentic selves.

So what's your fear?

Get really quiet and listen to the thing that's causing anxiety and worry. Look at it. Acknowledge it. Then, smile. Nod. Say hello. Take a breath. And do one small step to conquering it. Be brave. Be courageous. Be fearless. Be beautiful.
